Well, overall, the beta testing phase has been extremely productive for MyHST. Many good suggestions have been submitted by testers, and some elusive bugs have also been discovered in the process of testing every facet of the application.
We’re still continuing to give the testers time to test even more, as well as giving ourselves time to prepare for the official launch of the application, but all in all, it seems like it’s pretty much ready to go. Originally, we set a launch date of June 1, but we’ve moved that to May 1. Quite honestly, though, unless something really significant comes up in testing, we may start promoting it publicly as early as April 1 (no joke!).
During the testing phase, we have rolled out many new enhancements, such as a “Course Description Addendum" that can print (at the user’s option) with the transcript, ability for each homeschool to customize their own grading scale, transcript by subject format in addition to transcript by year, ability to record standardized test scores, extracurricular activities/honors/awards/achievements, and much more. A complete visual redesign of the application also was completed, bringing the look/feel of the application into line with this public website.
A hearty thank you goes out to those testers who have really taken the time to work the application, push its limits, and detect problems that existed. Without these testers, the application would not be ready to go so quickly!
